Nestled between the Kitzbühel Alps and the Loferer Steinberge mountains, the Pillerseetal valley comprises the charming villages of Fieberbrunn, St. Ulrich am Pillersee, St. Jakob in Haus, Hochfilzen and Waidring. It is named after the emerald-green Pillersee, a picturesque mountain lake that is perfect for swimming, boating or relaxing. The Steinplatte Waidring is not only a popular hiking area, but is also known for its prehistoric coral reefs, which are vividly displayed in the Triassic Park.
In summer, the Pillerseetal valley offers an extensive network of hiking and cycling trails with highlights such as the Buchensteinwand with the striking Jakobskreuz, which is the highest accessible summit cross in the world. Fieberbrunn is also an insider tip for trail running and mountain biking.
