Mostviertel

The Mostviertel is particularly famous for its apple and pear orchards, which have made it the home of "Most", a traditional, fruity drink. In spring, the orchards blossom and transform the valley into a sea of white and pink flowers. The region is therefore a real visual and fragrant experience, especially during the apple blossom season.

In addition to the apple culture, the Mostviertel also has a rich history, which is reflected in its picturesque villages and historic sites. The towns such as Waidhofen an der Ybbs and the many small villages are characterized by typical rural architecture and invite you to take a leisurely stroll through the narrow streets. In the many traditional wine taverns, visitors can not only enjoy cider, but also regional specialties such as "Mostbratl" or "Käferbohnen". This rural idyll makes the Mostviertel a place where tradition and modernity merge in a wonderful way.

For active vacationers, the Mostviertel offers a wide range of leisure activities, both in summer and winter. Hikers get their money's worth on the well-developed trails such as the "Waldviertler Jakobsweg" or the "Ybbstaler Alpenweg" and can always enjoy the view of the impressive nature and rolling hills. Cyclists can explore the region on the "Mostradweg", which leads along the Ybbs and Erlauf rivers and offers magnificent views of the Mostviertel. In winter, the gentle mountains of the Mostviertel region beckon with well-groomed pistes and a variety of winter sports options.

The Mostviertel is a region that delights its guests with its charming blend of nature, tradition and enjoyment. Whether on a hike through the apple orchards, a tasting of the fine cider or a discovery tour through the historic towns - visitors will find both relaxation and exciting experiences here.
