Wilder Kaiser - majestic peaks, varied adventures and Tyrolean charm
Wilder Kaiser - the striking mountain region in Tyrol fascinates with rugged rocky peaks, first-class hiking and climbing routes and picturesque mountain villages that perfectly combine nature and tradition.

Wilder Kaiser
The imposing Kaiser Mountains with peaks such as the Ellmauer Halt (2,344 m) or the Ackerlspitze (2,329 m) form the spectacular backdrop to the region. The villages of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll are known for their rustic Tyrolean architecture and as filming locations for the popular TV series "Der Bergdoktor". Lake Hintersteiner See, a crystal-clear mountain lake at 882 meters above sea level, is a popular destination for swimming and relaxing.
Active vacationers will find a true paradise here: Over 400 km of hiking trails lead to panoramic peaks and alpine huts, while climbers can master challenging routes in the famous Fleischbank or Totenkirchl. In winter, the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental ski area offers over 270 km of pistes, modern lifts and numerous toboggan runs. Mountain bikers and e-bikers appreciate the varied trails, including the route to the Gaudeamushütte.
In addition to sporting activities, the region offers a relaxed Tyrolean way of life with traditional alpine huts where you can fortify yourself with Kaiserschmarrn or Tiroler Gröstl. Events such as the Kaiserschmarrn Festival in Ellmau or the Almabtriebsfest in Söll bring tradition and conviviality together and make the Wilder Kaiser a year-round adventure destination.
